Rajiv specialises in serious and complex crime including large scale drug importation, manufacturing and supply, personal violence offences, sexual assaults, dangerous driving causing death, complex fraud and money laundering.
Investigations into serious crime routinely involve international and transnational cooperation between multiple law enforcement agencies. Rajiv regularly provides strategic advice to individuals and corporations at the early investigative phase and engages with the authorities to achieve an early optimal outcome.
Rajiv also has considerable experience in Extradition matters and Proceeds of Crime proceedings relating to restraint, forfeiture and confiscation. He frequently attends the NSW Crime Commission and the Australia Criminal Intelligence Commission for examinations.
Agencies such as the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority and the Office of Children’s Guardian regularly conduct internal or external enquiries as a result of criminal investigations. Engaging with these agencies during the criminal investigation phase is often a statutory requirement. Rajiv has extensive experience in advising individuals who have obligations to these agencies.
Rajiv appears as solicitor advocate in the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court for all matters including bail applications, defended hearings, committal hearings, sentence hearings and appeals.
In 2016 Doyle’s Guide to the Australian Legal Profession named Rajiv as a Rising Star in Criminal Law.
