Rima is a passionate and approachable criminal defence lawyer with varied experience in the public and private sectors. Prior to joining Nyman Gibson Miralis, Rima worked at Legal Aid NSW, a State Electoral Office, the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), and NSW Parliament.

By working as both a prosecutor and defence lawyer Rima has gained expertise in understanding the legal process from all sides. This allows her to guide clients through every step of the way, always with a solution-focussed attitude and client-centred approach.

She has appeared and instructed Counsel in the Local and District Courts on matters including drug supply, sexual assault, fraud and manslaughter, as well as interim proceedings such as pre-trial issues and release applications.

Whilst at NSW Parliament, Rima’s passion and interest in criminal law culminated in her supporting various public inquiries conducted by the Committee on the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). This experience has allowed Rima to gain a nuanced understanding of the legal and policy framework behind the operation and function of the ICAC.

Rima holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Communications in Journalism, and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice from the University of Technology Sydney.
