Jasmina Ceic is a partner and defence lawyer at Nyman Gibson Miralis. She holds a Masters of Law and is an accomplished criminal trial advocate, having completed advocacy training with the Australian Advocacy Institute. Jasmina advises and acts in complex criminal law matters at all levels of the court system, with a specialist focus on serious matters that proceed to trial in the Superior Courts, as well as conviction and sentence appeals heard in the Court of Criminal Appeal.
Jasmina works closely with some of Australia’s leading barristers and plays a pivotal role in formulating and executing comprehensive trial defence strategies.
Jasmina has represented persons charged with murder, sexual assault, complex international fraud, transnational money laundering, cybercrime, large commercial drug supply, and global drug importations.
Investigations into serious crime routinely involve international cooperation between multiple law enforcement agencies. Jasmina provides strategic legal advice to individuals and corporations in this complex area of law, to ensure that the rights of those under investigation are being properly observed across jurisdictions.
Jasmina has also been involved in conducting workplace investigations where allegations of serious misconduct are alleged.
Jasmina’s practice also focusses on advising and acting for white collar professionals, such as medical professionals, accountants, bankers, doctors and nurses, who may be facing complex and high stakes disciplinary proceedings, along with individuals and corporations that are being investigated or prosecuted by regulatory bodies for compliance breaches, in the areas of road traffic legislation, land and environment law and public health and safety law.
Jasmina has acquired significant expertise in representing people at the Australian Crime Commission and the state commissions throughout Australia.
