Cooma Local Court, also known as Cooma Court House, was built in 1888. It has been in continuous use for over 120 years, with only minor alterations since its construction.

What cases are heard in Cooma Court House?

Local Courts hear a variety of criminal matters and drink driving and traffic matters. The following information applies to Cooma Local Court, as well as all other Local Courts in Australia.

Most matters will start at the Local Court. The Local Court primarily hears summary offences, which are less serious offences. The Local Court also hears family law matters such as property settlements and residence orders.
