Case facts

Our client was charged with serious offences and bail refused at Liverpool Local Court. We did not act for the client on that bail application. Due to the current bail laws, unless any new material became available, a further bail application in the Local Court was not allowed, meaning that to get bail we had to lodge a Supreme Court bail application. We were instructed to lodge and act on the Supreme Court bail application.

The solicitor visited the client in custody and then met with the family. Affidavits and a draft set of proposed bail conditions were prepared. Steps were taken to lodge a mortgage with the Bails Registry as soon as possible in the event bail was granted.

Case result

The client was granted bail with strict conditions. As we were well prepared, the bail conditions were able to be met almost immediately and our client released from custody. Happy client and happy family.
